Concept

The concept of this case study was to create a single scroll website about something we love. I chose my dog, Jax, to be my subject. His nickname at home is always “Dude” and I used his nickname throughout the project. We needed to include three things that we love about them, or three things that have happened. We also needed to create a functional prototype for the single scroll website. There was a working menu button, and some buttons throughout that can take you back up to the top.

Research

I came into this case study knowing nothing about single scroll websites or creating prototypes. When doing my research, I mainly referenced examples of single scroll websites and how they work. It was also my very first time using Figma, so I had to do a lot of research about how Figma worked and how I could use it for my single scroll website. After completing some online research, I decided to sketch out what a wireframe for the website could potentially look like. I was assisted by my Professor, Meena Khalili, for this part. She was able to post a demo of a single scroll site for us to reference and see how it would work.

Final

After finalizing the prototyping and getting the software to run smoothly, I focused on the design. I decided to change the typeface I used and created more hierarchy throughout the website. I also re-designed the title screen and added a slightly different color and some circular shapes. The shapes added depth to my single scroll website. I edited the menu so it was more cohesive with the website. I used the same photos and style of website I originally designed, but I tried to make the website look more aesthetically pleasing. I also decided to revise some of the writing, but kept the same ideas used in the work in progress.
